Homeless Outreach Worker
Location: Stoke, Blurton - out in the community
Hours: 37.5 Hours - Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
Salary: £24,004.50 (pro-rata)
Contract: FTC March 2025 - service up for renewal, extension if contract is won
Driver essential - you will not be considered for this position should you not hold a UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
Please be aware, this is NOT a remote or hybrid position, strictly office based

I am looking for a Homeless Outreach Worker who has a background in supporting adults who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and I want to hear from YOU today!

Overview of the role
The role is in Stoke-On-Trent in the Blurton area. In your new role, you will be expected to support service users with their accommodation, help them overcome their addictions, re-engage them back into the community, support with their mental health, and liaise with external agencies. You will provide support to those who are in need, to try and access the appropriate benefits and help with their tenancy. The service users can be some of the toughest and most challenged individuals in the area. You will need to be resilient and have a true passion for supporting service users who demonstrate extremely challenging signs of drug and alcohol misuse, and those who struggle with personal hygiene. This position is NOT a personal care role, you should advise them to take care of their personal hygiene and support them with advice where possible.

Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to;
Providing housing support to vulnerable people
Promote their independence and recovery
Responding appropriately to chaotic and challenging behaviour
Providing support to those at risk of homelessness
Providing an effective and responsive supportive service
Liaise with referral teams/agencies regarding vacancies and referrals.

Required Skills, Experience, & Knowledge
At least 6 months' experience supporting youths or young adults who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless
You need to be resilient, as some service users will be vulnerable and will have challenging behaviour, and other complex needs
Driver essential - you will not be considered for this position should you not hold a UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle

Interview Process
1st Stage - Shortlisting & Pre-Screening
In this stage I will review your CV, then invite you for a telephone conversation, where will discuss your right to work, work history, suitability for the role, and any questions you may have.

2nd Stage - Formal Interview
In this stage, you will have a formal interview with the hiring manager.

You will be required to have a DBS on the update service, eligibility of right to work, and your start date will be subject to sufficient references.
