Brook Street was first founded in 1946 by Margery Hurst, a single mother with a clear ambition; to deliver quality recruitment services and high-quality temps in London. 47 years later, in 1993, Brook Street Social Care was established to provide quality temporary and permanent recruitment services to the social care sector.
Now, with over 30 years’ experience, we have become one of the UK’s most trusted name in social care recruitment. We have built solid partnerships through our commitment to provide the best service to people caring for the most vulnerable people in society. We know what it takes to make a positive impact to all people associated with this industry.
Along with colleagues in Brook Street’s nationwide network, we have branches in key areas throughout the country and have built up long-standing relationships with some of the leading employers in the social care sector. Corporate Social Responsibility is therefore embedded in the very foundations of Brook Street Social Care.
As well as getting involved in activities in the local communities in which we operate in, we’re also proud supporters of The British Heart Foundation - a cardiovascular research charity that funds medical research related to heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors. The money raised will help to fund research for cures and treatments, so that we can give more people time with the ones they love. Heart transplants, pacemakers, portable defibrillators and valve replacements are all breakthroughs the British Heart Foundation have helped to fund. We’re also committed to improving our environment and make efforts to reduce waste and effectively manage our energy consumption.

In our commitment to delivering the best possible service to clients and candidates alike, we’ve received an ISO 9001:2015 certification for our high quality recruitment services. We’ve met the requirements of the Government-backed Cyber Essentials Security Scheme; and our robust compliance, auditing and workforce management processes enabled us to be awarded with a Gangmasters Licence, too. We are also members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), whose Code of Good Recruitment Practices ensure the highest possible standards across its member base. We've also been named a Disability Confident Leader Organisation (Level 3), a government scheme which aims to help employers recruit, retain and develop people with disabilities and long-term conditions into employment.
