Job Description

Night Team Manager - Children's Secure Children's Home

Location: LS16, Leeds
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 35 per week (rota basis - Nights)
Salary: £37,305 - £39,513 pro-rata + Night Allowance + Secure Unit Allowance

Ready to lead, inspire, and make a real difference - even after dark?

We're looking for a resilient, empathetic, and passionate Night Team Manager to join our team at our Children's Secure Home - a nationally recognised and trauma-informed service caring for some of the most vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18. This is more than a job - it's a chance to lead with purpose, support lasting change, and help young lives find a brighter path.

About the Role

As a Night Team Manager, you'll oversee a dedicated team of residential night staff, ensuring that each young person feels safe, supported, and nurtured through the night. You'll lead by example - fostering trauma-informed, solution-focused care, developing your team, and championing best practice.

You'll play a crucial role in:

  • Developing a skilled, reflective, and motivated night team
  • Driving quality care in line with Children's Homes Regulations
  • Managing complex risk and behaviour with calm and confidence
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary professionals
  • Helping each young person move forward with trust and stability

About You

You are an emotionally intelligent leader who knows how to engage teams and connect with young people - even those who've experienced significant trauma or challenge.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Experience in residential care, youth justice or secure environments
  • A strong grasp of trauma-informed practice and adolescent development
  • Confidence in managing teams, rotas, risk, and staff development
  • High-level communication skills and a solution-focused mindset

And if you're not already qualified at Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care - don't worry. We'll support you to get there.

What We Offer

  • A comprehensive induction into Leeds City Council
  • Funded qualifications and continuous professional development
  • Generous salary, night allowance, and pension contributions
  • Wellbeing benefits, discounts, and flexible working support
  • Clear career pathways and opportunities to grow your leadership

Why join us?

We are driven by one vision: "to inspire change and personal growth within a trauma-informed environment." As part of Leeds City Council, we're proud to be part of a Child Friendly Leeds - a city where every child is safe, supported, and given the chance to thrive.

We're also proud of our diversity and commitment to inclusion, as an age-friendly, Stonewall Top 100, and Disability Confident Leader employer.
