About the Role
Our client is recruiting for a passionate, motivated, and dedicated Team Manager with extensive experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager who is keen to use their coaching and mentoring skills while upholding high standards in service delivery.
You will lead an Autism Outreach Service that supports individuals across seven London Boroughs, helping them live at home with family or in supported living environments. Strong collaboration with family members and other stakeholders will be essential. The role requires managing and motivating a staff team to provide creative, flexible, and person-centered services that enable individuals to thrive and be active members of their community.
You will be supported by two deputy managers to lead a large team of outreach support workers, ensuring that the service maintains the highest quality of care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess new referrals and develop comprehensive support and risk management plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families and other professionals/stakeholders
- Coach, mentor, and develop a resilient team of support workers and deputy managers
- Ensure the service delivers innovative, person-centered support that meets individuals' needs and outcomes
- Manage the service within budget and achieve expected performance indicators
- Maintain service standards to meet CQC requirements, aiming for a rating of "Good" or "Outstanding"
- Line manage deputy managers and oversee outreach services across multiple boroughs
- Ensure that support plans and risk assessments reflect individual needs and aspirations
- Apply safeguarding principles and practices in line with the Mental Capacity Act
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant management experience in a similar setting
- At least 3 years of experience delivering person-centered support to people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- A minimum of 1 year's experience managing services for individuals with complex needs, including behaviors of concern
- A qualification in Positive Behaviour Support Coaching (BILD accredited), NAPPI Level 2, or a willingness to complete the qualification within 3 months
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
- Staff management experience, including leading and motivating a team to deliver high-quality support
- The ability to think creatively and manage emergency situations effectively
- Experience developing needs assessments and support plans for people with behaviors of concern
- A passion for empowering people with autism or learning disabilities to lead the lives they choose
Desirable:
- Knowledge of managing budgets
- Emotional and physical resilience to handle challenging environments
