Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (will include on-call every 2 weeks)

Book Street Social Care are recruiting for a Safeguarding manager on behalf of their client based in Leeds who support vulnerable individuals such as refugees, victims of domestic violence, modern day slavery and unaccompanied asylum seekers.
This organisation is committed to lifelong learning and all staff will receive regular training in a wide range of
topics. They will also provide access to an Employment Assistance Programme for all staff and to well-being courses.
Job summary
You will act as a member of our management team utilising their skills in supporting the executive
directors to ensure that clients are empowered, encouraged, and enabled to lead satisfying healthy lives.
You will support the team of Advocacy Workers to ensure that our clients are safeguarded and work with
clients to improve their well-being and will work with the Senior Safeguarding Manager on continuous
improvement of any processes and development of external networks to support the safeguarding and well-being of
their clients. The successful candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to support teams in
implementing and adhering to safeguarding and well-being good practice.

You must have knowledge of both adult safeguarding & child protection along with good knowledge of
health and well-being and will undertake appropriate and necessary training updates. You must have experience
of the referral systems for health services and have experience of supporting individuals with their mental health and
well-being. It is envisaged that you may have a higher level of knowledge or experience of one of the areas,
either safeguarding or well-being, in which case they will be expected to show a high level of interest in the second
area and a desire to undertaking training to develop their skills and knowledge to the required level.
The post holder must have knowledge of working with vulnerable individuals including victims of modern slavery &
human trafficking, domestic violence, forced marriage, honour-based violence, asylum seekers and refugees. The role
requires working across their sites and therefore a driving licence and vehicle is essential.
Knowledge &Experience
1) Demonstrable experience of ability to plan and priorities own workload.
2) Demonstrable experience of working towards targets and tight deadlines
3) Extensive demonstrable experience and knowledge of supporting vulnerable victims.
4) Extensive knowledge/understanding of working in a social/support/care arena.
5) Demonstrable experience of management and team working.
6) Demonstrable experience of working in a multi-agency environment, partnership working and collaboration.
7) Experience of risk analysis and production of robust risk assessments.
8) Excellent communication skills.
9) Experience of safeguarding vulnerable individuals
10) Experience of mental health/well-being practices
11) Knowledge of support services and referral mechanism
12) Good problem-solving skills, with experience of dealing with complex issues.
13) Understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and maintenance of professional boundaries
14) Knowledge of British Law in relation to safeguarding and the wider area of adult protection.
Education
Excellent verbal and written command and articulation of the English language
GCSE's A* to C in Maths and English or equivalent
Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Specialist training/accreditation in Safeguarding and/or Mental Health/Health and Well-being is desirable
