We're seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Manager to lead our children's residential care home in Formby. In this pivotal role, you'll create a nurturing, supportive environment where children and young people can thrive, develop, and achieve their potential.
What You'll Be Doing:
As the Registered Manager, you'll take the lead in ensuring our home is a safe, welcoming space for every child in our care. Reporting to the Children's Service Lead, your responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and manage a dedicated team of carers, providing direction, guidance, and support.
- Drive performance by nurturing a positive environment that maximizes staff potential.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
Care Delivery:
- Provide high-quality, therapeutic care and advocacy for children and young people.
- Ensure the staff team has the skills and resources needed to deliver exceptional care.
- Act as a role model for others in delivering child-centered care.
Compliance & Governance:
- Lead the home through regulatory inspections, maintaining high standards in line with Ofsted requirements.
- Oversee robust care practices, safeguarding procedures, and medication management.
- Ensure thorough and accurate record-keeping to maintain regulatory compliance.
Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Build strong working relationships with local authorities, parents, and other key stakeholders.
- Participate actively in leadership and operational management meetings to contribute to the overall direction of the service.
Safeguarding & Health & Safety:
- Serve as the designated safeguarding lead, ensuring the wellbeing of every child.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are met, and that the home is a secure, well-maintained environment.
Who We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
- Extensive experience in children's residential care, including management and supervision (essential).
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of child development, Children's Homes Regulations (2015), and therapeutic approaches.
- Proven leadership abilities and the capacity to manage challenging behaviours positively.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in IT, with experience in report writing.
