Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people as part of our safeguarding policy.

  • Ensure all staff understand their roles and responsibilities regarding safeguarding and provide appropriate learning opportunities.

  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can flourish.

  • Build positive relationships with young people and staff, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff, supporting their professional growth and development.

  • Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure young people have access to education, training, and career development opportunities.

  • Uphold the home's ethos of prioritising the well-being and development of each child in our care.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A passion for prioritising the welfare and development of young people.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices.

  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience working within the Ofsted inspection framework.

  • Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or willingness to work towards it.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in residential care for children within the last 5 years.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory and management role within a care setting.

  • Ability to develop close working relationships with therapists and contribute to a comprehensive therapeutic service.
