Housing Support Worker - Southend-On-Sea, UK

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical advice, information, and support on a range of issues including tenancy sustainment, education, employment, and life skills.
  • Promote personal independence among service users.
  • Support service users in seeking improvements to their mental health and managing physical health problems or substance misuse as required.
  • Ensure exemplary, safe, and well-maintained housing for all service users.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, encouraging their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a housing support or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues, substance misuse, and the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supporting service users.
  • Relevant qualifications in social care, health, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care).
  • Knowledge of local services and resources available to support service users.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
