Job Description
Brook Street Social Care are delighted to be exclusively working in partnership with our valued client who provide support to families and young babies within family centres.
With a brand-new service due to open in early spring this year, we will be supporting them in their recruitment of Residential Support Workers to join their organisation. This is an exciting time for them and for the people recruited to be part of a new team!
The company:
With services across Lancashire, they work with individual families focusing on the promotion of parenting skills, to help promote the understanding and importance of key parenting skills and appropriate behaviours to help parents reach their full potential;
The role:
Residential Support Workers play a key role within the organisation. You will be working with the individual families and babies and reporting and recording observations of babies and young children's learning and development, documenting all records. You will undertake direct work with families in the residential family centre and community which safeguards and promotes the positive development of their children and young people using a solution focused approach. You will contribute to good practise standards within the company, adhere to all policies and procedures and provide 1-1 care of babies and children, adhering to all safeguarding legislation and minimum legislation standards.
Ideal Candidate:
You will be qualified to a level 3 in Childcare or equivalent and have experience of working across social care, desirable would be within a family centre or Mother & baby unit. Your excellent communication and organisation skills will be key, together with your professional, approachable and personable character. You will be able to be assertive when needed but also remain calm and considered in any situation.

We have day and night positions available, mainly FT hours of 37 hours per week (3 shifts per week) but we are open to some part time roles as well. Flexibility is also considered for the day roles depending on your personal commitments (to be discussed). There is also a structured on boarding process with 'get to know you' sessions, training scheduled in advance, introduction to the company and shadow shifts.
