To mark International Women's Day we speak to Permanent Team Leader, Celine Deglos about her experience at BS Social Care.
In the 1940’s Margery Hurst, through commitment and ambition founded Brook Street, with a drive to deliver quality temporary and permanent recruitment services. 47 years later BS Social Care followed, with the same ambitions set by Brook Street but dedicated to to the social care sector. Many years have passed, but Margery’s work ethics, as well as the way she empowered women within the organisation, remain an inspiration to BS Social Care and the way we work. Today, to mark International Women’s day we speak to BS Social Care’s Celine Deglos, Permanent Team Leader in Bristol, about her time at BS Social Care and how she continues to drive Margery’s vision 70 years on.
When did you join Brook Street and how did you progress your career within the business?
I joined BS Social care as a Permanents Consultant in October 2013. In 2016 I specialised in Management vacancies within the sector, and I have recently been given a secondment as a Team Leader for our permanent recruitment team in the Bristol branch.
What has been your main highlight at Brook Street?
A couple highlights of my career so far have been being part of a top-performing branch that won Silver Branch of the Year Award in 2014, and being awarded a trip to South Africa for being a top-performing consultant in 2015.
How has Margery’s vision shaped the way you work?
Margery Hurst was quoted as saying “I never thought for a moment that I could fail”. Her vision and belief has inspired me to always strive for new milestones, and believe that anything is possible.
What are your tips for people wanting to progress within the recruitment industry?
My top tip for anyone wanting to progress their career in recruitment, would be to build positive relationships with both your candidates and customers based on trust and an understanding of their needs.
